QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIRED EXPERIENCE FOR THE POSITIONS

i.Professor (CONUASS 7)

—Candidates should be holders of a PhD degree, from recognized universities with a minimum of ten (10) years teaching experience, as well as research and administrative experience from top prestigious and renowned Universities in the country and abroad.

—Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership in his/her academic discipline.

—Candidates must also be specialists in advertised field of study with evidence of scholarly publications in reputable local or foreign learned journals

—Candidates must be registered with professional bodies where applicable.

ii.Assistant/Reader Professor(CONUASS 6)

—Candidates should possess as all as stated above for the post of a professor but with a minimum of eight(8) years teaching experience research and administrative experience in yet, from renowned, prestigious universities.

—Candidates must also have evidence of scholarly publications in reputable local, national or international learned journals. He or she must also be registered with professional bodies where applicable.

iii.Senior Lecturer(CONUASS 5)

—Candidates must be authorities in the relevant field of PhD degree.

—Applicants must have at least six (6) years full time University teaching experience with ability to supervise and manage research projects.

—Candidates must be able to give academic and professional leadership in the field. Administrative experience is an advantage as well.

iv.Lecturer I(CONUASS 4)

—Candidates must normally possess a PhD degree in the relevant field, or for the college of health, a basic degree in Medicine (MB,BS)or Post Graduate Fellowship

—Candidates must have attained a minimum of three (3) years of post-doctoral teaching and research experience with the exception of the College of Health Sciences

v.Lecturer II(CONUASS 3)

—Candidates must have a PhD degree or MB,BS in a relevant field, from recognized and reputable tertiary institution.

—If PhD degree is to be utilised, applicant must have teaching experience from a renowned university

vi.Assistant Lecturer (CONUASS 2)

—Candidates must have Bachelor and Masters Degree in the relevant field

—Candidates must show proof or their registration for the PhD degree program

2.NON-ACADEMIC STAFF

Please it should come to noted that computer literacy and NYSC passing out certificate/ certificate of exemption are mandatory where applicable.

A. TECHNICAL STAFF ( Departments of Anatomy, Physiology/Pharmacology, Medical Lab and Mass Communication)

i.Technologists(CONTISS 08)

—Candidates must possess five (5) o’level credits including English and Mathematics with B.Sc or HND in relevant discipline, also NLSTS with NYSC Certificate

—Candidates should be an associate member in the Institute Of Medical Laboratory Technologists (AIMLT) of Nigeria or must have attained a B.Sc degree in Medical Laboratory Science

B.REGISTRY

i.Principal Assistant Registrar (CONTISS 13)

—Candidates should possess a good honors degree with at least Second Class (Lower Division) from a recognized University with at least twelve (12) years of cognitive experience from a University of tertiary institution of comparable status OR

—Candidates should possess a good honors degree with at least Second Class (Lower Division) and a Masters Degree from a recognized University with at least nine (9) years of cognitive experience from a University of tertiary institution of comparable status in the relevant discipline


—Membership of professional bodies will also be an added advantage.

ii.Administrative Officer (CONTISS 07)

—Candidates must possess five (5) o’level credit results including English Language and Mathematics and a University Degree from a recognized University

—Candidate must be a computer literate.

C.DIRECTORATE OF CORPORATE AFFAIRS

i.Information Officer I/ Public Relations Officer (CONTISS 08)

—Candidates must possess SSCE OR GCE or its equivalent with at least five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics

—Candidates must have First Degree/HND in Mass Communication plus NYSC certificate and must have attained at least four(40 years cognate experience in the media world or its related field or Masters Degree

—Candidates must be computer literate

D.UNIVERSITY HEALTH SERVICES

i.Medical Officer(CONTISS 09)

—Candidates must possess at least five (5) o’level credit passes including Mathematics and English Language plus Basic Medical or Dental qualification with provisional/ professional registration( House Officers) or full registration with the MDCN.

—Candidates must be computer literate

ii.Staff Nurse Or Midwife(CONTISS 07)

—Candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics plus registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) or B.Sc in Nursing with registration certificate.

—Candidates must have NRN or SRN certificate plus registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria

—Candidates must be computer literates.

E.BURSARY DEPARTMENT

i.Purchasing Officer (CONTISS 07)

—Candidates must possess at least five (5) credit passes including English Language and Mathematics  plus a good University degree in Economics, Statistics, Business Administration or any relevant discipline from a recognized university with NYSC certificate with at least four (4) years cognate experience

—Candidates must be computer literates

F.WORKS DEPARTMENT

i.Plumbing Assistant (CONTISS 04)

—Candidates must possess SSCE or GCE or any of its equivalent with at least five (5) Credit passes including English Language and Mathematics plus OND in the relevant discipline with Trade Test III

—Candidates must also possess a certificate of training in Plumbing with at least four (4) years working experience

3.SALARIES

Salary scale is in accordance with Federal Government salary structures; CONSOLIDATED UNIVERSITIES ACADEMIC SALARY SCALE (CONUASS) for academic staff and CONSOLIDATED TERTIARY INSTITUTIONS SALARY STRUCTURES (CONTISS) for non academic staff

4.OTHER CONDITIONS

I.Appointment is normally on probation which may be confirmed after two (2) years of satisfactory service. The post is pensionable.

II.All applicants for academic positions and applicants on CONTISS 05 – CONTISS 12 must be computer literates

III.All applicants for positions with CONTISS 02CONTISS 05 must be able to communicate in English Language.
