FG begins the RRR Conditional Cash Transfer to 200k Nigerians Nationwide It will interest you to note that the Federal Government of Nigeria has finally commenced the transfer of the 5000 Naira RRR Conditional cash to 200k Nigerians nationwide, we understand that those who applied for this are being credit, this cash transfer is for those Families that are poor, it will be fair to say that the conditional cash transfer is for poor Nigerians, irrespective of your tribe or faith, as long as you’re qualified to be credited you’ll be credited in due time.

According to Mr. Iorwa Apera who is the current Coordinator of National Social Safety Net Programme, he made this Announcement known to the General Public on Monday the 2nd of August 2021

The Nigerian Vice President Prof Yomi Osibanjo Officially flagged off the RRR 5000 Naira cash transfer in Abuja Nigeria during one of his numerous Online Virtual Interview, he declared open the programme and advised those in need to key into it.

“The groundbreaking success of the RRR now emboldens us to achieve our aspiration of a social security programme for a minimum of twenty million Nigerians in the next two years. This will be the largest of its kind on the continent. This (aspiration) is, at least from the perspective of this tested approach, now well within our reach.”

“The only constraint, of course, is the funding which we must look for because this country deserves a social security scheme that will not merely alleviate poverty but also create wealth for the millions of those who are waiting for this opportunity.

“As part of the NSIP, the Rapid Response Register (RRR) has been put in place by the Ministry as a shock responsive intervention register specifically targeted at the Urban Informal workers impacted by the Covid 19 Pandemic.

“One million Beneficiaries will receive monthly cash transfers of N5,000 for 6 months. A pilot commenced earlier this year with 3,115 beneficiaries in Lagos and Abuja. It will be up scaled nationwide and beneficiaries will start receiving their stipends soon.

“As of 31st December 2020, we have identified and registered about 24.3 million poor and vulnerable individuals into the National Social Register; equivalent to about 5.7 million households. Through this project, we are currently injecting about N10 Billion directly into the hands of about 2 million poor and vulnerable people every month.

“This is about the largest evidence-based effort by any administration on poverty reduction and its impact on the lives of the poor is huge; by way of improving the livelihoods of the beneficiaries through enhanced household purchasing power; smoothening consumption; increasing savings and acquisition of household assets, and improving the local economy. There are many more ramifications.”
